Israeli military vehicle rams Palestinian van near Jenin governorate

An Israeli military vehicle deliberately rammed into a van carrying Palestinian pilgrims near Jenin Governorate Square. The attack caused damage but no injuries, sparking outrage among local officials who described it as intimidation. Meanwhile, Israel continues aggressive actions across the West Bank, escalating tensions.

AhlulBayt News Agency: An Israeli military vehicle deliberately rammed into a van carrying Palestinian passengers in the northern occupied West Bank, an act that local officials denounced as deliberate intimidation.

A video circulating online shows Israeli forces intentionally crashing into the van near Jenin Governorate Square early Saturday morning, just as the vehicle was preparing to depart for Ariha.

The pilgrims onboard were scheduled to cross the Karama Bridge into Jordan and continue their journey to Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage.

Although no injuries were reported, the van sustained damage from the impact.

Deputy Governor of Jenin, Mansour al-Saadi, stated that the military vehicle directly targeted the van while it was parked outside the Governorate Compound.

Saadi described the incident as a clear act of intimidation, aimed at instilling fear among the pilgrims and disrupting daily life in the area.

The van was transporting elderly pilgrims, many of whom are relatives of martyrs and wounded Palestinians. Some of the passengers reportedly suffer from chronic illnesses.

It was part of a larger convoy carrying 376 pilgrims from the Jenin governorate to Mecca for this year’s Hajj pilgrimage.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has intensified its aggression against Palestinians across the West Bank following its large-scale military campaign against Gaza.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been killed and thousands wounded by Israeli settlers and troops throughout the occupied territories.

More than 700,000 Israelis reside in over 230 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank and East al-Quds.

The international community continues to regard these settlements as illegal under international law and the Geneva Conventions due to their construction on occupied Palestinian land.
